Caravaggio l'assassino

In, Death of a Virgin 1605-1606 much of the background is taken up by these immense, deep red curtains.  Single lighting and a stage-like setting.  Are we witnessing a crime or the staging of one?  Maybe I should try large curtains, but contemporary ones like tweety-bird or star wars.  How can I kill the aura of the ambrotype?   This is getting way too kitch.  Ordinary not kitchy.  Create a stage without curtains.  Aha the auditorium.

did you know he used the body of a dead prostitute recently taken out of the Arno river as the model for Mary?

a little something to brighten your day.
